Thailand Digital Arrival Card for Families and Groups

How TDAC applications work when travelling together, and how to prepare each traveller's details without mixing them up.

Introduction

Families and groups often travel on the same flights and stay in the same accommodation, but a Thailand Digital Arrival Card is still based on individual traveller information. The safest approach is to treat each person as a separate application with their own passport details.

VisaPal currently supports one traveller application at a time. That keeps identity fields clear and reduces the risk of mixing one person's passport number with another's travel record. If you are unsure whether each person needs a TDAC, start with Do I need a Thailand Digital Arrival Card?.

Families travelling together

When a family travels together, arrival dates, flights and hotel details may match across applications. Passport names, passport numbers, dates of birth and other identity fields must still belong to the individual traveller.

A practical family workflow is to gather every passport first, confirm the shared travel plan once, then complete each application carefully. For process steps, see how to apply.

Children

Where a TDAC is required, a child traveller still needs accurate personal information completed for that child. VisaPal is intended for adults and travellers legally able to submit travel documentation. A parent, guardian or other legally responsible person should complete a child's application where appropriate.

Do not invent a child exemption. Confirm official guidance for your journey, then enter the child's passport details exactly as shown.

Separate traveller information

Each application should stand alone. Before you submit, check that:

  • the name order matches that traveller's passport
  • the passport number belongs to the same person
  • date of birth and nationality are correct
  • contact details will reach the person managing that completed TDAC

Shared trip details can be reused carefully, but identity fields should never be copied from another traveller. See the requirements checklist before you start a batch of applications.

Group travel

Groups face the same rule as families: one set of accurate details per traveller. VisaPal does not currently offer a multi-traveller group checkout. A group organiser can still help collect documents and coordinate timing, then complete each authorised application separately.

Timing should be planned against Thailand calendar dates. The official submission window is currently within three days before arrival. VisaPal can accept requests up to seven days ahead as pre-bookings. Read when to apply before coordinating a group timeline.

Preparing documents in advance

Before anyone starts an application, gather:

  • each traveller's passport
  • shared flight or transport details
  • accommodation address information
  • working email addresses for delivery
  • recent travel history for each person where required

Preparing once reduces repeated lookups and lowers the chance of mixing travellers. Service pricing and what is included are explained on the cost page and in Standard vs Express.

Common mistakes

  • Reusing one passport number across travellers

Each application must use that traveller’s own passport details. Copying another family member’s information creates serious errors.

  • Assuming one application covers the whole family

VisaPal currently processes one traveller application at a time. Plan separate submissions for each person who needs a TDAC.

  • Using one shared email without checking delivery

Completed TDACs are emailed. If several applications use the same inbox, label references carefully so the right document is kept for each traveller.

  • Leaving children’s details until the airport

Children’s passport details still need careful entry. Preparing them in advance reduces last-minute mistakes.

Frequently asked questions

Can one VisaPal application cover my whole family?

No. VisaPal currently processes one traveller application at a time. Each person who needs a TDAC requires their own accurate details and a separate application.

Can I complete an application for my partner or child?

If you are authorised to submit on behalf of another traveller, you may complete that person’s application using their correct details. You remain responsible for accuracy.

Do children need their own TDAC?

Where a Thailand Digital Arrival Card is required, each traveller generally needs their own information completed. Confirm official guidance for your family’s journey rather than assuming a child is automatically covered by an adult’s form.

Should every family member use the same accommodation address?

Enter the stay details that apply to each traveller. If you are staying together, the accommodation information will often match, but passport and personal fields must still be unique to each person.

How should a group organise timing?

Use the same arrival-date rules for everyone: official submission within three days before arrival, and VisaPal booking acceptance up to seven days ahead. See the when to apply guide for the full timing explanation.

Where can I see what details each person needs?

Use the requirements checklist and review the common mistakes page before submitting multiple applications.
